Thursday, Feb 17th - LESSONS CANCELLED

Hey Raynham Riders,

Unfortunately, the forecast for this evening has not improved, so classes are canceled for this evening to ensure no one has to drive in unsafe conditions. As this is the second cancellation on a Thursday, we'd REALLY appreciate riders booking a make-up if possible. If you'd like to book a make-up but are having trouble finding a time, please send us an email, and Amy or I will do our best to fit you in! If you are unable to fit in a make-up class, we will deduct this second cancellation from the spring session.

If you booked a makeup last time already, use:
  • Group: WEATHERPR2
  • Private: WEATHERPR2

If you did NOT book a make-up last time, use:
  • Group: WEATHERGR1
  • Private: WEATHERGR1
If you've had a cancellation on another day, and have already used 1 & 2, use 3 (or 4) 😭

If you have to go out tonight, please be careful! Stay safe everyone!

Nikki

Thursday, February 17th - DAYTIME Lessons Running, Keeping an Eye on the Forecast for this Evening

 Hey Raynham Riders,

The weather is currently clear at the barn, and the forecasted snow isn't supposed to start until around 5pm, so daytime lessons (11:00am - 4:00pm) WILL be running today.

We will keep an eye on the forecast and update you by 1:00pm regarding the evening lessons.

Monday, February 14 - Classes ARE running!

Hey Raynham Riders,

It is a cold one out there, however, classes ARE running this evening. Please dress WARM!

Here are Nikki's tips for dressing for the cold:

  • Headband for under your helmet (or earmuffs, fuzzy helmet cover, etc)
  • Thermal base layer top, fleece top, then a winter jacket (I even wear a down vest too!)
  • Winter breeches or long johns under your breeches and even add snow pants on top if you get cold!
  • Wool socks (ski socks work great) and winter riding boots (or your regular winter boots if they have a suitable sole)
  • Winter gloves or mittens
  • Add hot packs (like little hotties) in your gloves and/or boots if you tend to get cold!

The heat is on in the tack-up area!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Your Raynham team :)

Sunday, February 13 - LESSONS CANCELED

Hey Raynham Riders,

Unfortunately, it looks like the temperature is going to be below our cut-off temperature of -12C tomorrow so we are going to cancel classes.  Let's hope that these extreme cold warnings go away and we get back to seasonal February weather!

As we build one cancellation into the winter session, and this is the first Sunday that we've had to cancel, you do NOT need to schedule a make-up lesson for Sunday but if want to get your lesson in, you can rebook using the following code:

Private Lesson: WEATHERPR1
Group Lesson: WEATHERGR1

Stay warm out there everyone!!

Saturday, February 5th - Classes ARE Running!

Hey Raynham Riders,

It's pretty chilly right now, but thankfully it will be warming up, so classes will be running today.  I have emailed the 9:30am class to move them to later/reschedule since it will take a few hours to warm up.

I have seen some people come to the barn very underdressed this winter.  Please make sure you dress as if you would if you were skiing or tobogganing.  Here are my tips (as someone that is always cold!:

  • Headband for under your helmet (or earmuffs, fuzzy helmet cover, etc)
  • Thermal base layer top, fleece top, then a winter jacket (I even wear a down vest too!)
  • Winter breeches or long johns under your breeches and even add snow pants on top if you get cold!
  • Wool socks and winter riding boots (or your regular winter boots if they have a suitable sole)
  • Winter gloves or mittens
  • Add hot packs in your gloves and/or boots if you tend to get cold!
This winter sure has made the tack-up area reno feel worthwhile! The heat is on in the tack up area :)

See you soon!

Wednesday, Feb 2nd - LESSONS CANCELLED

Hey Raynham Riders,

We are not having any luck with the weather this winter! It's freezing raining at the barn right now, and they are forecasting heavy snow this evening. We don't want students driving to the barn in unsafe conditions, and it sounds like the roads are going to be a mess tonight.

Unfortunately, this is the second cancellation on a Wednesday, so if possible, we'd REALLY appreciate riders booking a make-up. We are going to open up the 5th spot in group lessons when it's less busy at the barn, and add some make-up spots on Fridays. If you'd like to book a make-up but are having trouble finding a time, please send us an email, and Amy or I will do our best to fit you in! If you are unable to fit in a make-up, we willll deduct this second cancellation off the spring session.

If you booked a makeup last week already, use:

Group: WEATHERPR2
Private: WEATHERPR2

If you did NOT book a make-up last week, use:

Group: WEATHERGR1
Private: WEATHERGR1

If you've had a cancellation on another day, and have already used 1 & 2, use 3 (or 4) 😭

If you have to go out today, please be careful! Stay safe everyone!
