Unfortunately, the cold has not let up and it's going to be quite a bit colder than our cut of for lessons this evening so classes are cancelled. Thankfully it looks like things are going to warm up quite a bit this weekend though! As this is the first cancellation on a Thursday this session, riders do not have to reschedule the class, but you are welcome to do so if you wish. Inclement Weather Policy:
Lessons will be cancelled if the temperature is below -12c before the wind-chill or during unsafe driving conditions (such as heavy snow or icy rain). Please note that cancellations will be posted on the blog and Facebook ONLY so please be sure to check before heading to the barn during inclement weather. Any cancellations will be posted by 7:30 am on weekends, 1:00 pm on weeknights.
As we did last year – students do NOT need to book a make-ups for inclement weather cancellations so there’s no reason not to ride over the winter! For the winter session, we bill for one less class so if we have to cancel a class, we are square. If we have to cancel any additional time(s), riders will have the option to schedule a make-up or deduct the class off of the spring session fees if you prefer.

Summer Camp 2019 Registration OPEN!
Hey Raynham Riders!
Despite the very chilly weather the past couple days, summer will be here before we know it! And what's the BEST way to spend your summer vacation? At Raynham Stables Summer Camp of course!
Below are our 2019 session dates, themes to be announced shortly. We are only accepting 20 campers this year, so register early to avoid disappointment!

Show Team 2019!
Hey Raynham Riders,
Despite the awful weather this week, show season will be here before we know it! We have discussed it, and it does not look like we are going to be able to schedule in a make-up date for Show Team try-outs with the weather being so unpredictable. If you missed tryouts, we will do an assessment during your next lesson.

Dressage Clinic with Daphne Haagmans
Hey Raynham Riders,
With all the winter weather lately, I thought we needed something to look forward to! I have arranged to have Daphne, who is teaching me while Jess is in Florida, do a clinic for us. I think everyone will really enjoy her clear, positive teaching style. Here are the details:
Date: Friday, Feb 22nd (inclement weather date - March 1st)
Time: 11:00am - 6:00pm
Format: 45 min private or semi-private lessons
Cost: $130.00 private, $90 semi-private + $30 to use a school horse (if you don't have a practice ride that day). Includes a late lunch, snacks and hot drinks!

You guess it! With the extreme cold weather today, classes are cancelled. As this is the first cancellation on a Wednesday this session, you do not have to schedule a make-up lesson (as per our winter lesson policy, below). If you are keen to reschedule though, please feel free to do so using the booking code WINTER on the online scheduler. Tomorrow isn't looking very promising either but this weekend and early next week are supposed to be very mild!

So they're still calling for Snow-mageddon this evening so unfortunately, I think for safety we need to cancel classes again. There are quite a few spots open tomorrow and this weekend if you guys want to try to pick up another time. Sorry everyone :(

There is a snowfall warning in effect for this afternoon and evening so we're keeping an eye on the weather. Although it's quite cold out there right now, the temperature is supposed to warm up enough to run classes this evening. Fingers crossed the snow is not as heavy as forecasted! We'll make a decision by 1:00pm.

Just in case you were wondering, we are running classes this evening. They are just calling for rain, with the temperature staying quite mild (3 - 4c) so we shouldn't have any freezing rain. If the conditions in your area are different, and you do not feel safe driving, just let us know and you can reschedule!

You guessed it - lessons are sadly cancelled again this evening. With temperatures expected to be around -15c before the windchill, it's just not very pleasant for riding! Thankfully, it's supposed to warm up quite a bit tomorrow and even be above 0c on Wednesday! As this is our first cancellation on a Monday, riders do not have to reschedule, but are welcome to if they wish! Please use the booking code WINTER. There are quite a few spaces available this week:

Riders do NOT have to reschedule this lesson, as you were billed for one fewer class this session. If you are keen to get your lesson in, you are still welcome to reschedule! They are calling for a chance of freezing rain tonight but the forecast hasn't been very reliable lately - where's all the snow we were supposed to get last night??
We've decided to run classes but if the driving conditions do deteriorate and you feel at all unsafe driving, please just send us an email to let us know and you can cancel or reschedule.
Fingers crossed for good weather!

Session Two Lesson Schedule: Saturday, January 5th - March 8th
Hey Raynham Riders!
We are looking forward to seeing almost everyone back in the saddle this session and we have quite a few new students too - welcome! Below is the TENTATIVE schedule for this session. I did have to move a few riders, so please let me know ASAP if there is an issue with your new time so I can get it corrected quickly.
If you had to skip this session for whatever reason, we highly recommend trying to fit in a few single class over the session so you're not too rusty come session three - it's almost three months off with the winter and spring break! There are still a few spots available - if you are hoping to show this summer and are currently only riding once a week, we highly recommend you try to fit in a second lesson. Let me know!

- Ida M. - I have you at 9:30am on Sundays right now for a private lesson. The 10:30am group on Sundays would also be an option. So would 11:30am or 1:30pm on Saturdays.
- Mira E. & Nina M. - I have you two together in a semi-private lesson as you are both new riders. We will have an additional instructor assist with the class for the first few weeks.
- Keira, Ally & Clarice - We have you guys grouped as 3-person small group as we feel you will all progress quickly with the additional attention. Let me know if there's an issue!
- Clarice & Carmen - I wasn't able to make the end of the day work, please let me know ASAP if that is an issue. I can also let you know if anything changes!
I think that's all the notes! Thankfully there were almost no changes to Tuesdays and Saturdays at least :D If you are away this weekend on holidays and will miss a lesson, please let me know! I can let you know what options are available to make it up.

Show attire is not required, please just dress neatly but warmly for the conditions. We will not be doing a concession stand for this schooling show, we thought we'd do a potluck instead :) We have meatballs and chili already on the list!
